Spring breaks on Christmas morning
Michigan temperatures drop hard right around the holidays. Cold makes spring steel brittle, and that bang you heard at 7 AM is a torsion spring that finally gave up. The door won't open, the car is inside, and you're going nowhere. We get these calls every year on December 25th. We come out, same as any other morning.
Opener dies during a holiday weekend
More door cycles over a long weekend pushes an aging opener past its limit. Gear strips, circuit board dies, motor seizes. You've got family in town, multiple cars coming and going, and now the whole system is down. We carry parts for the major opener brands on the truck.
Door frozen to the ground or won't seal
Detroit winters and garage door weather seals don't always get along. Ice bonds the bottom seal to the concrete, and forcing the door open rips the seal and can bend the bottom section. We break the freeze safely, replace the seal, and make sure the door closes properly before we leave.
Door off track after hitting something
An extra car in the garage, a distracted driver, a kid on a bike at the wrong moment. The door gets hit, the track bends, and the panels are sitting crooked. A door stuck halfway open in January is a security and heating problem. We get it back on track and check the panels and hardware before calling it done.
